Have you had unprotected sex or has your contraception failed? EllaOne Emergency Contraception helps prevent pregnancy.
There is a chance of getting pregnant on several days of your cycle. The chance of pregnancy is lower if you take the pill as soon as possible after unprotected sex. EllaOne Emergency Contraception is effective when it counts. With this emergency contraception, you have a lower chance of pregnancy than with other morning-after pills*, because EllaOne is effective for more days and even up to two days before your ovulation. These are the two most fertile days. You can take EllaOne up to five days after unprotected contact; the advice is to do so as soon as possible. How do you use EllaOne Emergency Contraception?Take one tablet as soon as possible after unprotected sexual intercourse or contraceptive failure. How does EllaOne Emergency Contraception work? The purpose of a morning-after pill is to delay ovulation, so that the egg cannot be fertilized. As a result, a morning-after pill prevents pregnancy. A pregnancy is therefore not terminated, but prevented. Consult your doctor if you are already pregnant and do not take a morning-after pill. It will have no effect in that case. Please note: the morning-after pill offers no protection against pregnancy for sexual contact that takes place after taking the pill. Also, the pill cannot be used as regular contraception. Consult your doctor if you would like advice on which contraceptive suits you best.Side effects and fertility9 out of 10 women do not feel sick after using a morning-after pill. Furthermore, taking a morning-after pill has no effect on future fertility.*Versus levonorgestrel.
