By preparing the maternity bed in time, you protect your mattress against leakage if your water breaks at night. During a home birth, place the HeltiQ Underpad on your bed just before delivery as extra protection for your mattress and bedding. If you do not choose a home birth, you can also always place the underpad on the bed as extra protection before the delivery. The HeltiQ Umbilical Cord Clamp, for clamping the baby's umbilical cord, is used during a home birth and may only be applied by the midwife. To disinfect the mother's or baby's thermometer, the bottle of alcohol is used in combination with the HeltiQ Cotton Pads. It is also possible to use the HeltiQ Gauze Compress in combination with the alcohol to disinfect the thermometer. In addition to disinfecting the thermometer, the HeltiQ Gauze Compress can also be used to disinfect the wound or to absorb wound fluid in the event of an episiotomy or tear. This is done by the midwife. The adhesive tape can be used to secure a gauze compress if necessary. HeltiQ Maternity Pads can be used to further absorb blood loss after delivery. When blood loss decreases, switch to sanitary pads. Full breasts sometimes leak when breastfeeding. With HeltiQ Nursing Pads, you can catch this by placing two absorbent nursing pads in your bra.
