The spray contains moisturizing agents that soothe dry and irritated nasal passages. Use the spray for nasal congestion caused by a common cold. The spray contains xylometazoline hydrochloride. It quickly relieves nasal congestion by locally constricting blood vessels in the nasal mucosa, reducing swelling and opening the nose. To prevent possible spread of infection, the bottle should only be used by one child.How to use Otrivin Xylometazoline HCI 0.5 mg/ml Nasal Spray for Children?Always use under parental/caregiver supervision. Never spray more than three times per administration per nostril. Follow the following dosage: • Children aged 2 to 6 years: 1 spray in each nostril, 1 to 3 times a day. There must be a minimum of 8 to 10 hours between administrations. • Children aged 6 to 12 years: 1 to 2 sprays in each nostril, 2 to 3 times a day.
