If exposed dentin comes into contact with hot, cold, sweet, or acidic foods or drinks, or even a toothbrush, the underlying nerve can send a sharp signal. Dentin, which is protected by enamel or gums, can become exposed due to brushing too hard, teeth grinding, and/or dental erosion.* Forms a protective layer on the vulnerable areas of sensitive teeth when brushing twice daily.
