It happened long ago in the village of Werther. There, the confectioner Gustav Nebel created a masterful candy: Werther's Original.
For this, he used fresh cream, real butter, white granulated sugar, golden-yellow candy sugar, a pinch of salt, and a great deal of time. Because these candies were so delicious, they were named Werther's Original in homage to the village. Today, people all over the world enjoy these unique creamy candies, which are still made according to Gustav Nebel's original recipe.
